Where did CoolControl come from?

CoolControl is the successor to several research projects carried out by the Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory at EPFL, Lausanne:

  • AdControl, described in Antoine Guillemin's PhD thesis
  • ECCO-Build, described in David Lindelöf's PhD thesis
  • BelControl, in partnership with Adhoco AG

Why CoolControl?

Several CoolControl developers were dissatisfied with the results of the BelControl project, into which much time and effort had been invested for little, if any, results. CoolControl is intended as a thorough rewrite of BelControl.
